Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction and real estate
development projects to ensure effective financial planning and cost management.
Develop and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documentation, and project cost breakdowns
in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Monitor project expenditures and track costs throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure
projects remain within approved budgets.
Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations, conduct comparative analysis, and support the
selection of vendors based on cost efficiency and project requirements.
Manage contract administration processes, including reviewing contractual terms, preparing
payment certificates, and ensuring compliance with contract conditions.
Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without
compromising project quality or timelines.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and procurement teams to
ensure effective coordination and financial control of project activities.
Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports to support financial transparency and
project monitoring.
Identify potential financial risks associated with construction activities and recommend appropriate
cost control measures.
Ensure all cost management processes align with company policies, industry standards, and
regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to project costs, contracts, variations, and
financial transactions.
Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding project financial performance and
cost status.
Support project planning, budgeting, and procurement activities as and when required.
requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction or real estate development industry.
Professional certification or membership with recognized bodies such as NIQS (Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or RICS is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
Proven experience in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost plans, and tender documentation.
Good understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing structures.
Ability to monitor project costs, evaluate variations, and manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills when working with contractors, consultants, and project teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
